     In my interview with Evy, a recurring theme of owning her relationships with limbo arose. Her limbo experiences were placed upon her by uncontrollable circumstances and life’s trajectory. Others had opinions of the choices she should make and what her life should look like. She came to realize that the choice was in her hands. She learned to trust herself to make her choices. I believe that some of her words regarding these ideas could be significant to include, as well as perhaps the exact audio in our soundscape. Physically, I think it could be interesting to play with the image of being pulled in different directions and the strain that has on a person—and what happens when someone just sits with you in the strain and supports what you choose. This sort of limbo was a bit different—it almost felt safe to stay in, even though it was tumultuous and full of hardship, because the finality of exiting the limbo was frightening.

  Interview Questions: (Initial Question): “We’re doing a project to explore times of limbo or ‘holy Saturdays’ in our lives. The concept of Holy Saturday comes from the crucifixion of the Savior, when he had died on Friday, and had not yet been resurrected on Sunday. The worst had already happened, and the best was yet to come. That feeling of being stuck in-between or waiting happens to everyone, and we’re trying to compile stories to see what it is that gets us through these experiences. Can you tell me about a Holy Saturday or ‘limbo’ experience in your life?” (Follow-Up Questions): What tethered you in your limbo? Or what tethers you in limbo? Is there a “holy ground” or other place or object tied to this experience? How have you changed because of this waiting period, or limbo? How did you find joy during this time of waiting? Story 1 : How Will this Story End? Story 2 : Limbotic Growth

Our Question(s): How can we deal with being in limbo? How can we honor the holy Saturdays in our lives? Where/when is limbo beautiful? What tethers us in our limbo?  Statement: As we told our stories, we felt like a lot of them tied back to the idea of being stuck in-between–being in “limbo.” We also addressed a lot of big transitions, locations, or relationships in which we find ourselves in limbo: war, moving, growing up, feeling helpless, seeking balance. In exploring this idea of “limbo,” we want to focus on the concept of ‘Holy Saturdays” in our lives. The crucifixion happened on Good Friday, the Resurrection came on Easter Sunday. No one knows what’s going to happen on Saturday. The worst has happened and the best is yet to come--true despair/impossible hope. So how can we honor the holy Saturdays in our lives? What tethers us in limbo, and how can we make the most of the liminal space that is this life?
